Driftwood Den has a maximum occupancy of 2 people in 1 Double Bed It is not an option to add a z bed, cot etc as we are only insured for an occupancy of 2.

All bookings must be made online through our secure on line booking system, it is not possible to make a booking over the phone as our availability is live across many sites which operate in real time. Please use the website to get the possible rate, noting that if you use an online agency site their rates will be higher due to commission charges incurred by us.

Deposit & Paying the Balance On making a reservation a deposit of £75 is taken to secure the booking - this is equivalent to the minimum cost of a 1 night stay at the property and is non refundable, however it is transferable subject to availability. The full balance is due 4 weeks prior to arrival and it is your responsibility to ensure payment is received. Should we not receive the balance your booking will be cancelled and the deposit lost. For bookings made within 4 weeks of arrival, the full balance is payable at the time of booking.

Changing or cancelling your booking. We always try to be as flexible as possible but please be aware availability may be limited if you need to change your plans, we may be able to offer you alternative room only accommodation at the Endeavour Pub as we operate both venues.

Please note insurance is offered when booking your stay and you may wish to consider this, you may also be covered if you have annual travel insurance.

More than 4 weeks before arrival Subject to availability your deposit can be moved to a new booking if you have to change your plans before the full balance is due at 4 weeks. If you do not wish to make a new reservation this deposit is non refundable.

Less than 4 weeks to arrival For cancellations made within the 4 weeks prior to arrival your full balance will have already been paid. If we are able to relet the property for your original booking dates the full amount you paid can be moved to a new booking subject to availability, again we may be able to offer room only accommodation at the Endeavour Pub if there is no suitable availability at Driftwood Den. Should the booking value be more than your original booking value the difference will be owed at the time of making the new reservation. No refunds can be made for bookings made to a value at less than the original booking price.

Whilst the property is on one level there a minimum of 12 steps to the property depending on which street you access it from. Please assess the suitability of this property for your needs as it is not possible to park directly outside the property and your luggage will need to be walked up or down these steps. There are also additional steps to the Patio & Garden area.

The cottage is located on the East Side of town opposite Parkol Marine Engineering. It is approximately a 10 minute walk to the following land marks along the harbour:

We are a completely Dog Friendly cottage and you are welcome to bring your dog/s with you at no extra charge. For more than 2 dogs please contact us as due to space and other cottages using the garden this will depend on the size of your dogs! There is a shared Garden which is perfect for letting your dogs our for their first and last wee! However for the comfort of all residents we ask you to take them to the garden area on a lead and please clear up after them at all times. Dogs are not permitted on the furniture. Dog Bowls are provided. Dogs should not be left unattended in the property at any time, whilst your dog may be ok left at home in familiar surroundings for the comfort of our neighbours we ask you to be with your pets at all times just in case they become unsettled.

As with most cottages in Whitby there is no desginated parking, we are located very close to free on street parking and full details of this as well as car parks can be found on the ,locations page. TOP TIP! If you cannot find free parking close to the property we recommend parking in any of the car parks and calling a Taxi to deliver you to the property.

Keys are collected from The Endeavour Pub, the staff are on hand during your stay should you have an queries and an emergency number will be provided on arrival.

Arrival is from 3pm with check out by 10.30am - after locking up the property you can simply post the keys through the letter box.

Early Check in is available from 1pm - £20 Late Check out until 12noon - £20 These can be added on as extras at the booking stage or email us to add on after your booking.

All bed linen, towels and 2 tea towels are provided. Please note these are not replaced for stays less than 8 nights.

Tea, Coffee, Sugar & milk for your arrival cuppa! Salt & Pepper & Cooking Oil. Basic condiments may be left by other guests and we will leave them in the property if the dates are suitable. Electric Oven with Hob, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle, Tea Pot, Fridge and small Freezer with Ice Packs and Ice cube trays. Dishcloth, pan scrubber, Washing up liquid, Surface santizer & handsoap, Bin liners Crockery, Cutlery, Glassware, Kitchen utensils and various Pots, pans etc for preparing a light meal and a Picnic Hamper.

Shower, Toilet & Basin, Toilet Rolls, hand soap.

We do not provide toiletries as we find most guests prefer to bring their favourite brand with them.

We have the luxury of a shared garden area on a steep slope with other holiday cottages and this are should be used respectfully.

There is a shared Patio area with furniture for the use of all guests.

PLEASE NOTE NOT ALL THE COTTAGES THAT SHARE THE GARDEN ARE DOG FRIENDLY - PLEASE ENSURE YOUR DOG IS ON A LEAD IN THE OUTSIDE AREAS AND THAT YOU CLEAN UP AFTER THEM!

(Dog waste should be bagged and can be disposed of in the black bin under the stairs!)

There is an outside under stairs shed where you will find the bin, please dispose of all rubbish in tied bin liners to keep the bin clean - thank you!

Recycling - our refuse collection is with Nobles of Whitby who operate a full recycling service to all their commercial waste collections so no need to seperate anything during your stay.

You’re on holiday and we don't expect you to clean and strip the beds, however it is apprecaited if you could wash up any crockery, glasses, pots and pans etc as you go, pop your rubbish in the outside bin - thank you.
